NICOLA - ID#A046242

Hi, my name is Nicola.  I am a spayed female, brown tabby Domestic Shorthair.  The shelter staff think I am about 6 months old.

The enduring and endearing spirit of this lively, affectionate kitty has allowed her to overcome a range of challenges. At a very young age, she and her siblings needed to hurdle some contagious gastro-intestinal upsets that lingered for several months, without much consistent human interaction. Since her siblings recovered before she did, they moved into the general shelter population first.  While she remained isolated, she was somewhat fearful of the human contact she did have. Thanks to participation in the Socialization Saves Lives program, she gradually learned to trust and enjoy the volunteers that were trained to interact with her in a gradual, progressive manner, using small steps combined with consistent rewards. Not only did she lose her fear of hands, now she has graduated to the happy status of "lap kitty," with honors!
