Story

PETRA - ID#A044191

Hi, my name is PETRA.  I am a spayed female, black Domestic Shorthair.  Shelter staff think I am about 2 years old.  Petra is a very sweet, affectionate kitty, but you might not get to see that when you first visit her at the shelter. Petra came to us as a stray with a litter of kittens, and was placed in a foster home. Her foster mom reports that while Petra was shy, she would venture out and jump up on her lap for lots of petting. She also didn't mind the other cats that were in her foster mom's house.  Now that she's here at the shelter, all the noise and hubub keeps her pretty much to herself.  She does like when you pet her and talk softly to her, but she doesn't feel comfortable enough to play just yet. Based on her foster mom's experience, Petra would do well in a quiet home with no small children. Once she acclimates, she would be a loving lap cat companion.
