WAG-A-THON: Wag N Roll

The dogs wagged, the people rolled, and some did both at Pet Project Foundation's 17th annual Wag-A-Thonsm. The morning began with The Boys of Summer's cool tunes to get us started on the day's events (www.theboysofsummer.net). Folks were greeted by Platinum Sponsors Hartz, In Home Pet Final Care, and PetSmart at the Richard Henry Dana statue in Dana Point's beautiful harbor.

The Urban Mushers of Southern California (www.UrbanMushing.com) were present to tell us about their beautiful dogs and demonstrate how they work for fun.

Marley was there to lead the walk around the island and through the Bowser Bazaar. Did you see all that dog stuff??? Wow! PPF gets great vendors to come to this event.

We were treated to a demonstration by Orange County Fire Authority's Urban Search and Rescue Dog Team. See some of the pictures of this demo on our Website. Amazing animals!

Gunner proved he was the fastest dog in the Doggie Dashes with a 3.4 SECOND gallop through our racetrack. This is proving to be a real highlight for dogs, participants, and volunteers.
Pet contests! Yes! They were amazing, cute, clever!

We couldn't put this event on without the encouragement of the Dana Point Harbor Department and Orange County Parks. Wags and licks to those folks.

And our volunteers, what can we say but thank you for helping on such a huge event to raise money for our communities' animals! Many of us enjoyed an apres-Wag party at Aventura after closing up the Wag and cleaning the island. Much deserved!

Did you miss it? Well, mark your calendars for Saturday, April 30, 2011, for the 18th annual Wag-A-Thon!
